love is a verb
Love. Have you ever noticed how that word comes out of your voice box in a
different way? It can come out excited, happy, and downright giddy. Or, it
can be laced with tears. What a powerful emotion love is. In fact, I think
it may be the most powerful emotion there is. Love can move mountains, can
calm the angry soul, and it can make you crazy! It is something we yearn
for, something babies need in the beginning of their lives in order to live
a healthy life, and it is something humans continue to need up until the day
they die. Love can be shown in a variety of ways, but love, like all others,
is just a word. How many times have you heard someone say, ‘I love you,’
only to have them turn around and shout to the contrary with their actions?
Yep, actions speak louder than words when it comes to love. Love is not
found embodied in a dozen roses or a box of chocolates (although it comes
close). Love is found in what you do. Love is a verb. So, yes…go ahead tell
him/her/them you love them, but show them too! After all, isn’t that what
Christ did for us? |
